I loved the Darkyn series, but I have had trouble falling in love with the Kyndred series. I spent most of this book going huh?? Never really sure exactly what was going on. It seemed as though there were several separate stories going on with unclear ties to each other. Walker and Lilah are a great couple, struggling with their tragic lives, only to find each other and find the other half of their soul. Most of the questions and huh moments were pulled together at the end. I still want to know more about the "people" of Frenchman's Pass and how they will tie in with the series. But all in all, I liked the book. I'm glad I didn't give up on the series.

Absolutely captivating. This series is a new take on the whole vampire/angel theme. It has a lot of religious reference as the skeleton of the story, but it does not bog it down. At the core of the book is the passionate journey of Raziel and Allie. Allie is stubborn, strong willed, and not afraid to speak her mind. Raziel has existed for centuries and is not used to his women being outspoken and defiant. Their path is very humorous, and I found their sense of humor great. When all hell breaks loose when the Nephilim breach the gate aided by a traitor, they finally come together and realize their bond. I enjoyed this book so much I read it in one day and will preorder the next one. If you like Nalini Singh's Archangel series, you will love this one too.

I generally love Cole's books, but I just couldn't muster any affection for this one. It really dragged for me, was way too long, and I put it down at least 6 times to read something else. Today I was set on finishing it, but hours later I found myself skimming pages finally skipping about 250 pages in the middle to read the last few chapters. Maybe its the fact that Cole takes us back to the same beginning as the last book to tell someone elses tale, I don't really know. And I didn't get hooked into Regin and Declan's love story. I just couldn't get thru it, and even though all the other reviews love it, I just felt happy to have it "sorta" finished. That being said, I am not giving up on the series, not all the books will be "hits" for everyone.

Is this the end of the Elite Ops series?? It looks like everyone on the team is matched up. I was looking forward to Jordan's story, and even though it was somewhat predictable and the end was a little anti-climatic, I still loved Jordan and Teyha's story, they have a passion for one another that drives you to a cold shower from the pure heat of their sexual drive for each other. But now that we know who was really aligned with Sorrell and the truth to Teyha's entire life of running and hiding. I was expecting a little more from the conclusion. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but overall I'm ok with the story.
My only true complaint was the editing, will someone please proof-read these books before publishing!

I really like this series, its just different enough to be really interesting. Each couple are from different species, with different issues, baggage, and paths to take. With Seth and Raine, Seth helped rescue her when she was being held captive by Westmore and became instantly fascinated with her. Unable to let her go, Seth follows her when she leaves the compound to avenge the death of her sister. Both Seth and Raine have some very damaged past to overcome, he was a collective soldier who killed vampires and she IS a vampire. Lots of scars and guilt. They are both strong characters, but at times seemed a little wimpy and whinny. Almost like they were channeling their 16 year old virgin selves. But at least with them they weren't stopping to have sex in the most inappropriate places. (Byrd tends to do that sometimes). The war with the Casus has taken some interesting turns and the end was not as climactic as I had hoped, but it seems that the war is not over yet. We have new things escaping from hell......

Well......not my most favorite of the series, I like Amun's story. And Haidee was a very intersting character. Add to that the drama with Strider and his "vacation" with Paris and William and it is not a bad read. My only 'con', is that it was about 50 pages too long for me. Just a little too much dialogue and flash-backs for me. Still a good story though. And I can't wait to see what is in store for Strider.....sounds very interesting. Paris and William have some interesting paths happening in this book also. Its not always a good thing to have bored Lords running around......

Larissa has a way with desciption, sexual tension, and emersing you in a world without description. I love Ares and Cara, what a great couple!!! For awhile you could never tell just how things would turn out between them, they just couldn't catch a break. But true love has a way of beating all the odds. Lots of characters in this one, each with their own story and personality, even the animals. This is one that I would say you should rush out and read immediately.
Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't -- or won't -- understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. WOW!! I think this is my favorite next to John Matthews story. There is so much going on in this book. Vishous/Jane, Payne/Manny, Vishous/Butch, and Quinn/Blay. And new characters are introduced. There are plenty of unanswered questions in this story, the war with the "lessers" doesn't progress much, and there are the new characters to whose true purpose is unclear. And this story has a whole lot more sex going on....with everyone. I have read the other reviews, and I don't agree with them at all. I was hooked into this story and couldn't put it down. JR Ward is a great story teller, and I'm fatally attached to her series.
