Nicole James-Outlaw (Outlaw #1)

Adult biker romance-18+

When outlaw biker, Cole Austin sees a young woman handcuffed and being dragged across the yard of the Dead Souls Motorcycle Club's remote clubhouse, he's stunned by the realization of just how dark his world has become. This scene is even more than his twisted soul can stomach. Compelled to intercede and save her, he has no idea his whole world is about to change. He believes he's doing the right thing until a secret she's hiding makes him question if saving her may be the biggest mistake of his life. The two strike a deal, a deal they may both come to regret. Can his soul be saved? Is there anything he won't do for her? Are there some things he just can't? And are there some things she can never forgive?

This is one of those moments where you ask, "Did I read the same book as these other people?" Each book really is an individual experience, some you love, some you don't. I guess this time around I'm on the love side. Yes, there are some issues with it, but those (for me) are the writing style and not the story itself. I will say that the synopsis (which doesn't do this book justice) and the other reviews had me delaying reading this, but I wish I hadn't, it was an unexpected surprise. I found that this MC book was just different enough to make it unique and kept me reading the entire thing in one sitting (1 am to be exact). I enjoyed it so much I'm moving on to the next book in this series cause I have a crush on Crash. Don't let reviews sway you from discovering a book that just might be a "crush" for you. I find some true gems among books that don't find the love of readers/reviewers. Sometimes it really is worth the discovery.

Bella Jewel-Number Thirteen

Adult Contemporary

This isn't a dark romance, nor is it a light fluffy one. It's broken, and captivating, and a story of two people putting themselves back together. It's a story of a broken man who found his way to heal with Thirteen Girls. It does not have a cliffhanger.

We're thirteen girls, captive to a man we rarely see.
Obedience will become all we know. It is the only emotion we're permitted to feel.
When we're bad, we're punished. When we're good, we're rewarded. Our scars run deep. Yet we survive, because we have to, because HE teaches us too.
All of us are special, we feel it with everything we are.
He has us for a reason, but it's a reason we don't know.
We've haven't seen his face, but we know that something deeply broken lies beneath the darkness. With every touch, with every punishment, we know it.
Then came the day he saved my life, and I saw him for the first time. He released something inside of me.
He showed me who he truly is.
Now I want him.
I'll go against Everything I know to be with him.
A monster.
My monster.
Loving him is a sin, but a sinner I am.
I won't stop until I see every part of him.
Even the parts he keeps locked deep down inside.
I am Number Thirteen, and this is my story.

{4 stars}
Even after sleeping on it, I'm not sure I can articulate what this book is about and what my impression is. It is NOT a romance, it is not erotic. And until you reach the end of their journey, you have no idea exactly what is going on. It took me two tries to get into this story. (And I only picked it up because I like Bella Jewel) But once I started, I felt compelled to finish the journey. And the journey isn't only for the thirteen girls, but for him too. Something in him was broken as a child and it has changed him. He thinks he is a monster, but what you find out is something different. He is really a saving angel.

Once you know the whole story, the real story of each of the thirteen, you understand what is going on. It's not a pretty journey. There are punishments, but there are rewards. Does the balance make a difference? I don't know, but for the thirteen girls, it does. They find a balance in living in this house, a purpose, a peace. I don't want to give anything away. But I knew going in, it was not a romance of any kind but a beautiful journey all the same. And most people won't agree with me, but if you finish the book, maybe you will see the HEA that I saw.

But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

{5 stars}

"I'd sell something important to see his bare ass. My books, my e-reader, my soul, whatever was necessary."

What can i say....I LOVE IT! I really want my very own MAL! He is like a puppy on adderall, non stop energy and humor. I was hooked from the beginning. Anne seems to take just about everything in stride, which is just what Mal needs to balance out his high energy impulses. I hate to say it but I really liked this one more than the first book. Mal just brings out something in the reader that makes you want to smile, hug, and lick him all at once. Great job Miss Kylie, can't wait for the next one.

**warning** don't eat or drink while reading this, you risk spitting everything out with laughter.

Don't let the cover fool you, this is a Tara Sivec book and there is nothing child-like or innocent about it. What it IS, is laugh out loud funny. The whole gang is back together again for the story of Tyler and Ava. And believe me, Tyler is hilarious!! A couple of surprises are in this one for Tyler, and once you think about it, it's really no surprise at all. Another wonderful laugh filled book.

Jasinda Wilder-Falling Under (Falling #3)

Adult Contemporary Romance-18+

My name is Colton Calloway. You've heard part of my story, but it turns out there's more. My little girl, Kylie, is all grown up. Seventeen, beautiful, and talented, just like her mother. And just like Nell, my daughter seems to have fallen for a bad boy, one with a lot of darkness and a lot of secrets.

*  *  *

You thought you knew the whole story. You thought it was over. Happily ever after for everyone.

You were wrong.

My name is Oz Hyde, and you’ve never met me. I’m part of the story, too, but I’m an aside, a quick line or two you’d all but forgotten about. Well guess what? I’ve got my own story to tell.

Buckle up, ‘cause this is gonna be a hell of a bumpy ride.

{5 stars}

......our breathing merges and time stops and the heaven itself shatters through us, weaving our souls together.......

Amazingly emotional ride, I'm still crying (happy tears). When I read the first 2 in this series, I was in awe of the emotions that Jasinda Wilder can draw out of the reader. Emotional hardship, but also such beauty. I know, it all sounds sappy, but I have really loved all 3 stories. They don't just give you the HEA fantasy, they also give you the hard road that it takes to get to the HEA. It's not always pretty, but nothing beautiful is ever easy. It takes work and trust. Oz is just like Colt in so many ways, damaged. But Kylie finds the soul underneath all that damage worth fighting for. Too many times to count, we get that hard slap to the back of the head with Oz and think, "Oh no, this can't be happening?". The tears start up again and I'm frantically reading to get my questions answered. Some secrets come out that we had all but forgotten about from the first 2 books, and they are a surprise. But a good surprise that really ties the 3 books together. This series is just beautiful, that's as simply as I can put it. Thank you Mrs. Wilder for sharing this journey with us, and thank you for hitting that "publish" button a year ago!!

Rogue by Katy Evans
(Real #4)

The fourth story in the new adult series that began with the New York Times bestseller Real, featuring Brooke's best friend, Melanie, and the rogue she can't resist.

Greyson King…

My boyfriend. My friend. My protector. He’s the reason I wake up every morning with a smile on my face, and the reason I fall asleep limp, worn out, and aching for his warm arms around me. When we make love, he says my name like it means something. Like I mean something.
He
Lied.
His name is Greyson King, but his alias is Zero.
There’s zero trace of him, he has zero past, and now I know that with him, I will have zero future.
He may leave no trace of him anywhere, but his imprint is in me, in my very soul—and I hate that a mere look at him commands the beat of my heart. The temperature of my body.
I’ve looked for love my entire life. I’ve waited for the butterflies, the rainbows…
Instead I’m in a free fall of emotions and there’s no one to catch me but the one man I should be running away from. The one man I thought was my prince charming.
Except this prince charming went rogue.
Greyson will stop at nothing to make me be with him. He'll let no one stand in our way, will allow no one to threaten me, and maybe this is what scares me most of all...
What will my rogue do to keep me?

Adult Biker Romance-18+

Jenna “Ice” Chandler grew up as part of a motorcycle club. She considered it her home, until one wrong move made it her prison. After months of abuse, she is rescued by Chipper, who takes her to Big Clifty, Missouri, home of the Renegade Sons MC.

Kiddrick “Kidd” Jones is the president of the Renegades. He knows there is something special about Ice the moment his older brother, Chipper, brings her into the club, but stays away, because she is too young.

When time comes for Ice to take her place in the club, she has two choices, become an old lady or a club whore. Not believing in love and knowing a man can never be faithful, she decides to earn her spot on her back.

With each passing year, Kidd's feelings for Ice grows and the urge to make her his becomes stronger. Frustrated and jealous, he finally decides it’s time to make her his.

Will Ice finally thaw out and give love a chance, or is Kidd fighting a losing battle?

WARNING: Renegade Lady contains adult situations some readers may find offensive. This is a raw and gritty story involving explicit sex, graphic language, violence and drug use. Not intended for readers under 18.

{4.5 stars}

There are a lot of MC books hitting the market these days, and it might seem simple to write an MC book. But it isn't. An MC book has to have just a little extra, a little more than boy meets girl, then HEA. There is drama, and violence, and love so strong that it makes the earth spin for you. That's what I find in an MC book. Most people don't understand what I see in stories like this, but I see beyond the "usual" club stuff to the story underneath. The story of the broken souls that find their HEA among other broken souls that create a bond that is hard to pull off in a book.

Jenna was broken at the age of eleven. But a chance encounter changes her world and she gets a second chance at life. Kidd knows from the moment he lays eyes on her she is his, but she is far to young for him to claim. So he waits, and screws up, time and time again. Even when he can claim Jenna, he screws up again. There is nothing pretty, or charming about this story. It is harsh, things happen to Jenna that should never happen to anyone, especially a young girl. But watching the story play out captured my attention and I never looked away. I found Jenna and Kidd true characters, and the MC brothers (and sisters) to be just the right amount of balance to make all 390+ pages worth it. This is not a series for the "vanilla" reader. It has topics and violence that most people would not think about reading in a "romance" book. But it is all part of the world of MC's, and Jenna and Kidd are uber HOT. When they come together they truly collide! Can't wait for Preach and Daisy's story.

Kim Jone-Saving Dallas Forever (Saving Dallas #3)

Adult Romance-18+ biker

Dallas Knox finally has it all-a man who loves her unconditionally, a relationship with her new found sister and an MC family who has proven their loyalty time and again. Things are looking up for the CEO who was once a lonely woman filled with bitterness and resentment. The MC life has taught her what it means to be a part of something special. They have broken down her walls and filled her heart with empathy and compassion, resulting in Dallas becoming a person she can be proud of. But, when Luke is called to join forces with the Devil’s Renegades Lake Charles Chapter against another MC, Dallas will have to start all over-building relationships with a whole new group of ol’ ladies whose trust she has to earn. Not only is Dallas battling relationships inside the club, but ghosts of her past have come back to haunt her. Will the life she has chosen be enough to keep the demons at bay? Or is the desire for forever too far out of reach?

{4 stars}

Dallas did the unthinkable to save herself and her sister, And now she finds herself trying to figure out the intricate path to living the life of the Presidents ol' lady. The rules in the MC are difficult and not always logical. They revolve around respect and hierarchy in the MC.  But she has her MC "sisters" to help guide her, sometimes. Dallas has to earn her place among them just as much as her place by Luke's side. Can't she ever catch a break? Plus, Charlie Lott is us to his plotting again. He just can't seem to let go of Dallas.

Under all the layer of mystery and MC drama, is Luke and Dallas. Their passion and chemistry is amazing to watch. I don't agree with a plot point that I won't give away, but it didn't take away from the story as a whole. Though I will say that I didn't "hang" on every word of this one like I did the first 2, but I still love Dallas and Luke. The MC "cast" of characters are becoming important personalities in the overall series, and I look forward to reading Red's story.
