K.v. Rose - Boy of Ruin (Unsainted #4)

Boy of Ruin (Unsainted, #4)Boy of Ruin by K.V. Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well...

This book is long. For me, about 100 pages too long. I love these characters and the storyline is layered and fast paced (most of the time) to keep me interested. I actually read books 1-4 back to back, and I never do that.

So many secrets are uncovered, so much damage done to children. It's a very dark world they live in. This series is not for the vanilla reader in any way. And I'm good with dark subject matter, but with this particular book, I found the enormous amount of sex too much. Too much in the way that it swallows the story. Happens to frequently with too many partners, some at the same time. Why would Lucifer allow that to happen at Ignis if he is so possessive of Lilith? Didn't add up to me. So sadly, I did start skimming some sections to get past it so I could get to the actual story. And all in all, Lilith/Sid is the strongest character of this series, even more so than the guys.

And even with my few dislikes of this particular story, I will keep reading this author and the series. We end on a cliff hanger and I need to know what happens next. Not sure whose team I'm on yet, Lucifer or Jeremiah. It's a toss up right now .....

Tiffany Reisz - The Pearl (The Godwicks #3)

The Pearl (The Godwicks, #3)The Pearl by Tiffany Reisz
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ARC provided by Netgalley for honest review.

Out of the 3 Godwick books, this is my least favorite. Maybe it is the switching of roles, but I just didn't care for Regan. She wasn't likeable for me. I didn't feel the passion that I felt in the first 2 books. So it's not a 5 star for me. But how I got to 4 stars is Lord Malcolm. Always up to his old tricks, manipulating the situation for his own pleasure. Even in death (or is he?), he manages to stir up trouble..... and pleasure.

K.V. Rose - The Cruelest Chaos (The Unsainted #3)

The Cruelest Chaos (Unsainted, #3)The Cruelest Chaos by K.V. Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was so looking forward to Maverick's story. Especially how strong of a character he was in the first 2 books. And it's not as if I'm totally disappointed. But the Maverick we get once we peel back the illusion, was not what I was expecting.

I feel like there was some plot missing. Something just didn't make sense to me and the night of Noctem felt like we just breezed past it without any real substance (unless my book had missing pages). Not sure what happened there.

But overall I'm still in love with this series and I'm heading right into the next book.

K.V. Rose - Pray for Scars (The Unsainted #2)

Pray for Scars (Unsainted, #2)Pray for Scars by K.V. Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading book 1 in this series, I just had to dive into book 2. I was committed to finding out how all of the secrets where going to get spilled, along with a lot of blood. Who would live? Who would be with who? And how was Sid/Lilith going to get out of all the traps she found herself in.

Watching Lucifer's addiction to her, her need for him (but not wanting to admit it). The secrets from all of their childhood nightmares. And when the battle for the top with the 6 would come to it's inevitable conclusion. Or does it?

More compelling than the first book, I'm completely committed to this series now. I love K.V. Rose's writing. The story moves quickly with turn after turn of secrets and lies, blood and violence. Like being trapped in a horror/fun house of broken mirrors. But under all the layers, in their own twisted way, their love for each other shines.

Trigger Warning: some of this may be too much for some readers. If you are not used to dark violent roads, this may not be for you.

K.V. Rose - These Monstrous Ties (The Unsaints #1)

These Monstrous Ties (Unsainted, #1)These Monstrous Ties by K.V. Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A little back story. Someone in Amo Jones Wolfpack led me to this series. Some of us were looking for something equivalent to the Elite Kings series.

Well, Unsainted has lived up to the hype. I jumped off into this dark world with high expectations. And even though I felt there were some weak moments with some of the "H" characters, the storyline was dark and intriguing enough to keep me turning the pages. Now i'm fully committed to reading this thru to the end.

Warning: This series is not vanilla, simple, or romantic. It is blood thirsty, violent, with secrets some people may not want to read about (trigger warnings). But if you like to take a ride down a dark road with some really very interesting characters and detailed plot twists. Jump right in!!!

Amo Jones - In Fury Lies Mischief

In Fury Lies Mischief (Midnight Mayhem, #2)In Fury Lies Mischief by Amo Jones
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As with all of Amo Jones' books, this was a tilt a whirl ride.

Killian turned out to be a much more in depth character than I thought he would be. Sass is his equal in all ways and they make a perfect match.

Love it!! Love finding out more about the "founding families", the history, their path from children.

(no spoilers here)
