Tsk, Tsk Miss Stunich, you and your cliff hangers!!! But I expect nothing less.

I haven't read many reverse harem stories, but I've read plenty of MC series. So let's break it down to this. 20% reverse harem, 30% lost girl, and 50% MC.

And somehow this all blends into a high octane story with lot's of sex, drama, and edge of your seat nail biting tension. If you don't like MC's, you won't like this. It has lots of MC violence, and situations with teenagers you won't like if you are too sensitive. BUT, if you have an open mind for an adventure starring one determined girl. Then you will love this one. The four HOT MC guys that come along with this girls journey are just an added bonus.

Can't wait to get to the next book.

If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would give it 10.

First, Amo, what have you done? I've cried, yelled, obsessed, and yet I still can't take in all that happened in this story. I need help. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON PART 2!!!

It's been days since I finished this book and I'm still processing all that happened. 

Happiness, tears, soul crushing grief, shock, jaw dropping surprises. I had to re-read the last chapter just to make sure I actually caught all the details. (i missed one). If you haven't read this series, then I can't help you with any explanations. It's too complicated, too layered. just too everything. So start at the beginning with the Silver Swan. And trust me, once you start you will be just as hooked as the rest of us. The obsessed fans having mental breakdowns waiting on Amo Jones to get the next book out.

Tillie and Nate, what can I say. What you thought you understood about them in the previous books doesn't even come close to the reality of them now. I was stunned, in love with them both, and blown away emotionally by what happens. You think an author wouldn't dare take that leap, but she does. She throws you off the cliff without any warning or a parachute. Just free falling to the crash below. And we eat up every word of it, begging for more.

This is the second book in the Elite Seven series. The seven are all named for the 7 deadly sins, and each are given a task they must complete to become a member of the Elite, a secret society of wealthy powerful men.

With Pride we jump back to the beginning, catch up on some background, and go forward from the nite where all the seven members meet. I love that we get each story as it rolls out like a spoke in a wheel from the center story base. It keeps us from missing out an any timeline of each of the seven.

I really enjoyed Pride (Mason), his story was compelling and layered. The secrets that came out at the end I didn't see coming. 

This series just keeps getting better.

I was really looking forward to this book. Jacob's parents books hit me emotionally and I loved them so much I bought the double trade paperback for my "keeper" shelf. 

But.........

I didn't absolutely love Jacob's story. Honestly Part 1 was a slow painful path I forced myself thru (3 stars). Part 2 was better, we get more movement of the story (3.5 stars). More emotional attachment. Part 3 was the 4 star portion of the story for me, the resolution to the life of the Wild family. This is where I actually got attached to Hope and Jacob and enjoyed how their path was converging. 

Maybe it was because all of Jacob's issues were emotional in comparison to his parents where theirs started out as a survival to live. Jacob and Hope started their lives not having to worry about food or shelter, they had a whole different set of problems. Both had lost a parent, so everything was emotional. And Jacob was such a stubborn character thru most of the book. And at times, it all felt a little too predictable. 

Still happy I read it, not a keeper for me, but I still enjoyed the ending to the Wild family.

There are 7 stories in this series. And I say stories not books, because there are 7 deadly sins, 7 men set to join the Elite, each with their own story.

This story was not what I was expecting. It's starts out by capturing your attention in a horrific, emotional way. Then the grief that follows "Lust" thru the end of his high school career. I thought it would be much more cut throat brutal thru the whole story, but I was happily surprised when we got the emotional sub story going. And thru it all the 7 other Elite are playing their parts and teasing us about their stories. 


So much mystery and intrigue woven in. I really liked it and can't wait to read the remaining 6.

We have come to the end. On one hand you never want a series to outlive it's storyline and become repetitive and boring. But when you have a really great writer who makes each and every book outstanding then it's hard to say goodbye. 

We had 13 books, with 13+ cases, more than 13 new "family" members to the group, and way more than 13 memories of a spellbinding series. It's been a funny, amazing ride with Charley, Reyes, Cookie and the ever expanding gang. Darynda Jones always had us laughing and in awe of Charley and Reyes (Cookie's antics), and still managed to weave a story in amongst the peripheral view. The supernatural aspect just fit in perfectly with the everyday "case" solving and you didn't even notice how far you strayed from the everyday life into the "celestial" one. 

I'm going to miss the gang so much, but I'm really crossing my fingers that the ending was a clue to a new series.
