Darynda Jones - Seventh Grave and No Body (Charley Davidson #7)

Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out the jugular of Charley Davidson and serve her lifeless, mangled body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fianc√© who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life.

A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

We’re doomed.

Wow, this is by far the best one yet in this series! So much happens, but I'm not one to give any spoilers. Let's just say that this book moves the storyline along in a BIG way. Hellhounds, murders, missing corpses, a missing father, and BEEP (you will understand when you read it). But there is no rest for the saviour of humanity right? I'm exhausted from just reading all that went on in this book. Secrets, lies, and hellhounds make everything that much more tense. We get a lot of answers, but those answers just create more questions. How is this all going to play out? Will there be a final battle? Is everyone really on Dutch's side? And Reyes, well, he seems to be just as insecure as the rest of us when it comes to Charley. Is was nice to see this side of him. Absolutely one of my favorites in this series, can't wait for the next one.

P.S. If you are reading the print addition, the bonus chapter is SOOO worth the price of the hardback!!! (And I hate the word affianced now....lol)
